علق أحمد حسام ميدو عضو اللجنة الفنية بنادي الزمالك على فوز الأبيض على سموحة مساء السبت ضمن منافسات كأس مصر، معلقًا على رفض القلعة البيضاء استقدام حكام أجانب في مباراة القمة أمام الأهلي.

وقال ميدو في تصريحات تلفزيونية عبر قناة “الزمالك”: “جمهور الزمالك هو كلمة السر، وبيسيرو يعمل على مدار 24 ساعة من أجل الفريق، والجهاز المعاون يعمل باحترافية كبيرة”.

وأكمل: “علينا مسؤوليات كثيرة تجاه جماهيرنا، وإن شاء الله فريق الكرة وقطاع الناشئين سيتطور، الزمالك سيكون عنده قطاع ناشئين قوي جدًا وسيكون الأقوى في مصر، وفعلنا خطة لهذا الأمر تحت قيادة حسين لبيب رئيس النادي”.

وأردف: “وبالنسبة لقصة تجديد اللاعبين، نحن نُجري اجتماعات بشكل يومي، والموضوع لن يأتي في يوم وليلية، لأننا ندخل في مفاوضات مع وكلاء اللاعبين”.

وأضاف: “أول شيء بدأنا بـ عمر جابر، وهو لاعب كبير وركيزة أساسية، وطور نفسه بشكل كبير على مستوى الشخصية وداخل الملعب، وأهنئه على استمراره لموسمين معنا، وأهنئ بنتايج وأتمنى أن يستمر في التطور، وكل لاعب سننتهي من التجديد له سنعلن عنه”.

وتابع: “بالنسبة لنا مباراة القمة ملف وانتهى، وأقول لجمهور الزمالك أن من قاد ملف مباراة القمة بامتياز وحنكة شديدة جدًا، هو الكابتن حسين لبيب، كلنا نعمل ونخلص، ولكن هذا الملف أداره رئيس النادي باقتدار وذكاء وخبرة كبيرة”.

وزاد: “دائمًا عندنا تدافع عن حقوقك لا يُخشى عليك، لقد وضعوا لنا مباراة الأهلي بين مباراتين في كأس مصر، طالبنا تأجيل مودرن سبورت وتم الرفض، وقلنا لا توجد مشكلة وسنلعب، ما تم الموافقة عليه فقط تأجيل لقاء سموحة 24 ساعة”.

وأشار: “بالنسبة لموضوع الحكم، أنا رفضت طلب حكام أجانب، لأن في القمة الأخيرة الحكم الأجنبي ظلمني، وكانت لنا ركلة جزاء صحيحة 100% ولم تُحتسب، أنا رسالتي كانت واضحة نحن لن ندفع 60 أو 70 ألف دولار في حكم أجنبي لا نعرف مستواه، وقلنا للنادي الأهلي واتحاد الكرة أيًا كان الحكم سنلعب”.

وأوضح: “قلنا إن لو الطاقم التحكيم تم الإعلان عنه فلا يوجد تراجع بعد ذلك، والزمالك لن يتنازل عن حقوقه، فما المطلوب منا أكثر من ذلك لنفعله؟ نحن وافقنا على كل شيء، في النهاية تواجدنا وقمنا بدورنا، والمنافس أخذ قرار الانسحاب، والملف بالنسبة لنا تم غلقه إلا أن يجد جديد”.

وتابع: “نحن بالنسبة لنا حاليًا إن الملف أغلق، لكن الجميع يعلم إن مسؤولي الزمالك لن يتهاونوا في حق الزمالك، وأقول لجماهير النادي اطمأنوا، (اوعوا حد يقولكم إن الزمالك سيجلس على طاولة المفاوضات)، هذا لن يحدث، أنت لا يجب أن تفاوضني في حقي، هذا حق الجمهور، فلا تهاون بأي شكل من الأشكال في حقوق الزمالك”.

واسترسل: “كنت أتمنى انضمام عمر جابر لقائمة منتخب مصر، ولكن نتمنى التوفيق للفراعنة، وأيًا كانت اختيارات الجهاز الفني نحن ندعمه ونتمنى لهم التوفيق”.

واختتم: “الرسالة واضحة لجمهور الزمالك، (اوعوا حد يحط جوا مخكم إن الزمالك سيتنازل عن حقوقه)، الكلام الذي كان يحدث قبل ذلك بالجلوس على الطاولة لنتفاوض ونتنازل عن حقوق النادي مقابل أشياء معينة، لن يحدث، سنحارب على حقوق الزمالك لآخر يوم في عمرنا”.

Defeat to Leeds United on Saturday afternoon made it 12 games without a win in all competitions for the west London side. It was also their fifth defeat in their last eight games in the Championship, and they have just 10 points to their name, five adrift of 21st-place Luton Town.

After the game against Leeds, Cifuentes came under even more pressure, but he claimed that he has received a lot of “confidence” from the club, and that he will continue to work as always. He said: “I receive a lot of confidence from the club, and I work as always. We managed a similar situation last season, and I spoke about expectations in the summer.

“No one wanted or expected to be in the situation we are in now, but that’s the reality of football.

“We have a very important game against Stoke after the international break, so we have to keep believing. There are a lot of games, and it’s in our hands to turn the situation around. That’s the target.

“The most important target now is to recover some players [after injury] and keep on working.”

However, as the November international break now gets underway, it appears the club are preparing for the event of having to replace their current boss, as the Spaniard has won just 16 of his 51 games in charge in all competitions.

Potential QPR Cifuentes successor seen at Loftus Road this season

According to French outlet L’Equipe, QPR are interested in appointing Gregory Vignal as a replacement for Cifuentes. The 43-year-old is not unknown to British football, as he played for Liverpool between 2000 and 2005, while he has also had spells at Rangers, Portsmouth, Southampton and Birmingham City as a player.

Vignal retired from football in 2014, and in 2023 he got into coaching, first becoming assistant manager at FC Versailles in July 2023, before he was appointed manager in November of the same year. Vignal, who likes to play a 4-3-3 attacking formation, left the club in February this year and has been out of work since.

At stumps, the hosts in their second innings trail by three runs with eight wickets in hand, on a pitch that has produced 21 wickets over the past two days – though the last two will have the Dimuth Karunaratne’s side kicking themselves, both being entirely avoidable run outs.The first came as a result of an outstanding direct hit from Kyle Mayers to dismiss the captain himself, while the second was rather more self-inflicted, with Oshada Fernando hesitating in the middle of the pitch and failing to return to his crease in time.That has left Pathum Nissanka and Charith Asalanka at the crease, on 21 and 4 respectively, with the former also nursing a knee injury that he had received treatment for on the field.Therefore going into the final two days, with rain also expected in bursts, the game is poised to go down to the wire. While West Indies will be wary of having to bat last – only two teams have chased a score higher than double-digits to win in Galle – they will be quietly confident of the ability of their batters in chasing what could end up being a modest target.Indeed, despite losing their last seven wickets for just 87 runs earlier in day, Kraigg Brathwaite would have been buoyed by how well the top order coped with Sri Lanka’s spin threat for the most part. Mendis, Embuldeniya and Jayawickrama all found better lengths after lunch and in the process dried up the scoring. They were also perhaps aided by the extra bounce afforded by the new ball, with five of the six wickets to fall in the session coming after they opted for it – the last two wickets fell swiftly after tea.That said, the most important breakthrough came at the start of second session, when Embuldeniya worked over a set Brathwaite in brilliant fashion. Having shifted to over the wicket against the right-hander, Embuldeniya peppered a leg-stump line – replete with leg slip and short leg – for the first couple of deliveries, before getting one to spin sharply past Brathwaite’s, oddly lax, forward defence. The ball proceeded to hit the top of middle stump, a dream dismissal for the left-arm spinner but one which Brathwaite could have avoided by simply padding away.That brought to an end an 85-ball 25-run stand between Brathwaite and Shai Hope, the last one of any significance. Mendis took charge of proceedings from thereon, getting rid of Roston Chase, Hope, Jason Holder and Joshua Da Silva in the span of a few overs, before returning after tea to close out the innings with the wicket of Jomel Warrican.This turn of events had seemed far from likely in the morning. Indeed, such was the level of West Indies’ control that, aside from the wicket of Bonner, the only real moment of peril occurred courtesy Suranga Lakmal, Sri Lanka’s lone seamer, who got a fuller one to jag back into Bonner’s pads, only for a subsequent review to show a faint inside edge. Those instances typified a luckless morning for the home side with Brathwaite and Bonner resolute. The Sri Lankan spinners did themselves little favours in any case, unable to extract the same turn and bounce West Indians were able to do so consistently the previous day.Much of this was down to an inability to find the right lengths, with Jayawickrama and Embuldeniya particularly culpable, far too often straying full and making it easy to smother any turn on offer. On the few occasions that they did hit a good length, both Brathwaite and Bonner were able to get bat in the way and deal with it safely. And it wasn’t long before the home side’s frustration began to show, as they began to offer more scoring opportunities, ones the West Indians were ruthless in dispatching.Brathwaite, who was quite comfortable staying back and navigating the spin late in most circumstances, was the biggest beneficiary on this front – he would end his innings with nine boundaries, and was all too happy to put away anything short, square of the wicket on either side. The pick of his shots, though, were two front-foot efforts either side of mid-on – for the first, he showed exquisite wrist work to take one that was a little fuller and steer it to the left of a straight-ish mid-on, while the second was a delightful clip to the midwicket fence.It was only following Bonner’s dismissal that Sri Lanka’s spinners rediscovered some sort of rhythm, which in the end they managed to carry over in spades for the rest of the innings.

– Vai ser um jogo chato. Vamos seguir, vamos competir, segunda bola é importante, vamos lá para dentro fazer o nosso jogo – disse Lázaro.

Quando o jogo terminou e o Alvinegro concluiu a virada diante do Ituano, com gols de Fábio Santos, Giuliano e Paulinho, o camisa 11 destacou a dificuldade imposta pelo adversário, que até então estava invicto no estadual.

-Foi um jogo extremamente difícil, enfrentamos uma equipe de bastante qualidade, eles estavam invictos na competição. O campo também dificultou, uma característica única de jogo. A equipe jogou em um sistema diferente contra a gente, em uma linha de cinco, jogando nos contra-ataques, e a gente deu essa liberdade para eles nessa primeira parte. Saímos perdendo, mas melhoramos no segundo tempo, e assim chegamos aos gols e vencemos um jogo difícil – afirmou Giuliano.

Willian, que entrou na segunda etapa, ressaltou a entrega e dedicação do elenco para buscar a virada.

– Jogo difícil. A gente sabia das dificuldades para o jogo, o time lutou até o final, saímos perdendo e conseguimos buscar o empate. Depois eles fizeram 2 a 1, a gente buscou o empate e consequentemente viramos o jogo. Valeu a entrega, valeu o empenho do grupo, temos que ser assim todos os jogos – ponderou o camisa 10.

Por fim, Paulinho foi o último a falar com a Corinthians TV. O camisa 15 fez seu primeiro gol após retornar ao Timão e destacou o comportamento da equipe para buscar o resultado.

-A gente sabia das dificuldades contra o Ituano. Uma equipe de qualidade, que vem bem, mas o importante foi a forma como nós nos comportamos. Agora é trabalhar, próxima semana temos um jogo difícil, feliz pelo gol, mas mais ainda pelos três pontos – concluiu o meia.

O Corinthians retorna aos gramados na quinta-feira (10), às 21h30, contra o Mirassol, na Neo Química Arena, pela quinta rodada do Paulistão.

Ben Stokes has joined Joe Root in deciding not to enter the auction for the 2022 edition of the IPL, with England’s Test captain and vice-captain instead set to prepare for the first Test of their home summer against New Zealand by playing in the County Championship.Root said last week that he was weighing up whether or not to put his name forward for the auction for only the second time, after going unsold in 2018, and confirmed after the Hobart Test that he had opted against it.”There’s a lot that we need to do for this [Test] team, which deserves all of my energy,” Root said. “I’ll keep sacrificing as much as I can because I care so much about Test cricket in our country and trying to get us to where we want to be.”While Root, who has not played a T20 international since May 2019, was by no means guaranteed to win a contract at the auction, Stokes was significantly more likely to do so. He was the IPL’s MVP in 2017 playing for Rising Pune Supergiant, and was the most expensive player at the 2018 mega auction, signing an INR 12.5 crore (£1.4 million approx.) deal with Rajasthan Royals.ESPNcricinfo understands that franchises are not expecting Stokes to enter the auction before the deadline, which has been pushed back to January 20. A European giant has now made an early move to try and sign a Manchester United star in January, with Ruben Amorim yet to be impressed by him, according to a fresh report.

Amorim takes first Manchester United game

Manchester United were held to a 1-1 draw by Ipswich Town on Amorim’s Premier League debut after he took charge in the November international break.

A new-look Red Devils side trialed a 3-4-3 system that saw Noussair Mazraoui form part of the back three, with Amad Diallo stationed at right wing-back and Diogo Dalot on the opposite flank.

They did not look comfortable for much of the game, and Amorim’s changes did little to inspire improvement, with the new Man Utd boss singling out summer signing Joshua Zirkzee as someone who needed to improve to continue getting game time under his management.

“I think that [decision-making] is a concern, you don’t need to coach them at this level,” Amorim said.

“You have to keep the ball and know the momentum to put the ball in front. Sometimes you feel that you can’t keep the ball and you [have to] put the ball in front.

“Then you have like we are in the end of the game, we were around the box with two strikers. Josh [Zirkzee] has to understand that he has to go to the box to have the crosses. So we are doing some things that were not at the right moment, so that is something we have to address.

“Sometimes people talk about the 3-4-3, that is not the concern, the system is the system but the understanding of the game is what we have to improve a lot in this area.”

Already under pressure after a poor start to his Old Trafford career, Zirkzee has been linked with a move away and now those comments have caught the eye of a European giant.

Motta wants Zirkzee reunion at Juventus

That comes as reports in Italy claim that Juventus are keen to sign the Dutch striker should Manchester United decide to cut their losses.

The Turin side are now coached by Thiago Motta, who worked with Zirkzee at Bologna last season, a campaign which saw the forward net 12 times in all competitions.

And now, it is claimed that he is eyeing a reunion, and “first contact has now been made between Juve and Motta’s former striker”, as they look to bring his Old Trafford nightmare to an end.

He would be a massive statement of intent from the new Manchester United boss.

It is added that “Juventus are in the front row” to sign the 23-year-old, who arrived for £36.5m just months ago and is on £105,000-a-week, though there is no suggestion that Manchester United have changed their stance on the youngster.

Nonetheless, with the Red Devils linked to several new forwards and Rasmus Hojlund already at the club, Zirkzee may only likely see his game time decrease in the months and years ahead, suggesting that perhaps a move away from Old Trafford is the best move for all parties.
